Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor



About the Role: A well-established residential developer is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, supporting the delivery of high-quality new-build homes. The successful candidate will work closely with senior surveyors and site teams to ensure cost control, contract management, and procurement processes are efficiently managed.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
*

Support the procurement process, including obtaining quotations and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
*

Conduct site visits and valuations to assess work progress and financial performance.
*

Assist in the preparation and submission of interim and final accounts.
*

Monitor project expenditure and variations to ensure financial control and compliance with contracts.
*

Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
*

Assist in resolving contractual and commercial issues.
*

Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation to support financial claims and project audits.

Requirements:

*

A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
*

Previous experience in a similar role within the construction or residential development sector is advantageous.
*

Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
*

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
*

Good communication and negotiation skills.
*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*

Willingness to learn and progress within the business.
