Harris says changed Labour Government will benefit construction

Building Careers Owner and CEO Mark Harris has made the following statement, after Labour became the Government of the land.

"As the country woke up to the news of a Labour victory and a new Prime Minister in Sir Keir Starmer, it draws a line under past and a look to the future. While the previous few weeks have been busy in our industry, I expect we will see the construction and social housing sector really take off. I’ve been having those discussions with many peers in Tier 1 and 2 companies  - we are anticipating a busy end to the summer and finish to the year.

"What we do know is that Labour have been looking to execute its plan and that will start today. I expect announcements in housing and infrastructure soon as the party focusses on economic stability and growth. The industry we operate in will benefit from that.  Labour has a target to build 1.5m new homes and what companies need to build is people. This is where Building Careers will be able to deliver for our partners."
