Senior Quantity Surveyor - Housing Groundworks



As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of groundworks projects for major housebuilders. You will play a key role in ensuring cost control, contract compliance, and financial performance, working closely with operational teams, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee the commercial management of multiple housing groundworks projects.
* Prepare, review, and manage cost estimates, budgets, and valuations.
* Handle subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and contract management.
* Conduct regular cost analysis and reporting, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
* Assess and manage risk, resolving any contractual disputes.
* Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure projects are delivered on budget and on time.
* Prepare and submit applications for payment, variations, and final accounts.
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the housing groundworks or civil engineering sector.
* Strong understanding of groundwork packages, including roads, drainage, and infrastructure works.
* Excellent knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Relevant degree (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering) or equivalent qualification.
* Full UK driving license.
