Estimator / Senior Estimator - New Build and Refurb Housing

Responsibilities:

* Prepare and process quotations, bids, and tenders for projects.
* Issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate their quotations, and manage the selection process.
* Produce detailed quantities for building works to support accurate project pricing.
* Evaluate material, labor, and plant requirements as part of the tender preparation.
* Provide detailed breakdowns and support the value engineering process to ensure the project aligns with client budgets.
* Collaborate with internal teams, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to define project specifications, identify preliminary requirements, and assess risks, provisions, and exclusions.
* Attend and contribute to meetings with colleagues and clients as needed.
* Assess and manage commercial and operational risks related to tender submissions.
* Measure project scopes from the outset using industry-standard methods such as SMM7 or NRM.

About You:

You will have a strong background as an Estimator or Senior Estimator, ideally within the New Build and Refurb Housing sector enabling you to immediately contribute to our tender workload. Your expertise in pricing projects from first principles and in cost planning will be crucial. Strong attention to detail, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, are essential. You will be experienced in managing both large-scale projects and multiple smaller ones simultaneously. Experience with estimating software such as Causeway or similar systems is preferred.
