Electrical Pre Construction / Estimator

Our client deliver tailored electrical solutions built around actual site conditions and client needs.

They're now looking for an experienced Electrical Pre-Construction Manager / Estimator who understands how to adapt and evolve existing installations - not just work to prescribed specs.

About the Role

This is a client-facing, commercially astute, and technically hands-on pre-construction role. You'll assess what's already in place, collaborate with stakeholders, and craft design-led but practical electrical solutions that make sense both on-site and on paper.

You'll be expected to:

Review and assess existing electrical installations - understand what's there, what can be adapted, and what should be replaced.
*

Evolve design criteria based on what already exists - this is not a clean-sheet role.
*

Engage directly with clients, landlords, and building contractors, aligning design and delivery goals.
*

Go to market for costs, liaise with suppliers, and identify the right solutions for performance and price.
*

Prepare cost plans and competitive tenders based on real-world conditions and commercially sound proposals.
*

Offer input on value engineering and ensure all pre-construction output aligns with programme and budget expectations.

What You'll Need:

Solid experience with a building services contractor - not just consultancy or design-only work.
*

A proven background in electrical design and build - flexible, site-aware, and solution-focused.
*

Ability to interrogate and adapt existing installations.
*

Great communication skills with confidence in client-facing and multi-stakeholder environments.
*

Excellent understanding of market costs, procurement routes, and value-driven decision making.
*

Detail-oriented with a collaborative mindset and strong commercial awareness.
