Mechanical Pre-Con Manager

Our client is a specialist in design and build mechanical solutions, not off-the-shelf packages. They are looking for an experienced and dynamic Mechanical Pre-Construction Manager / Estimator who can assess existing conditions, adapt intelligently, and shape practical mechanical strategies - not just follow pre-written specs.

This is a client-facing, hands-on pre-construction role where you'll be expected to roll up your sleeves, assess real-world conditions, and evolve mechanical systems that make sense technically, practically, and commercially.

Key responsibilities include:

Review and adapt existing mechanical installations, identifying workable, cost-effective solutions.
*

Develop and evolve design criteria - starting not from scratch, but from what already exists.
*

Interface with clients, landlords, and building contractors to understand real requirements and site constraints.
*

Engage the supply chain, go to market for pricing, and validate solutions from a cost and feasibility standpoint.
*

Prepare detailed cost plans and tenders, ensuring all solutions are grounded in what's buildable.
*

Offer value engineering advice, balancing performance, cost, and constructability.

What You'll Need:

*

Solid experience with a building services contractor
*

A background in design and build mechanical projects - adaptable, not spec-led.
*

Sharp ability to interrogate existing MEP systems and design around them.
*

Strong client-facing skills, with a confident and credible communication style.
*

Excellent commercial awareness and up-to-date market knowledge.
*

Organised, collaborative, and confident working across multiple stakeholders and teams.
