About Us:

Our client is a well-established and respected joinery contractor operating across the North West of England. Specialising in commercial projects, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality craftsmanship and professional site management. They are currently seeking a Contracts Manager with a strong joinery background to join their growing team.

Role Overview:

They are looking for a proactive and experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in joinery, possess excellent organisational and leadership skills, and be confident in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the main point of contact for projects under your management.
*

Ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and to a high standard of quality.
*

Oversee all aspects of health and safety on site, including RAMS, permits to work, toolbox talks, audits, and risk management.
*

Coordinate and manage site resources, including joiners, materials, and subcontractors.
*

Conduct site inspections and manage quality control.
*

Collate and record project variations and material take-offs.
*

Handle ordering and receiving of goods.
*

Liaise regularly with head office and provide progress updates to the Quantity Surveyor and Directors.
*

Maintain accurate records and use basic IT tools such as Excel, Word, and email.

Requirements:

*

Minimum 3 years' experience in a site management or supervisory role in construction.
*

Proven background as a qualified joiner (NVQ Level 3 in Joinery essential).
*

Strong understanding of Health andamp; Safety practices on construction sites.
*

Confident using IT systems for reporting and communication.
*

Excellent problem-solving and forward-thinking abilities.
*

Effective verbal and written communication skills.
*

Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
*

Commercial awareness and a high level of duty of care.

Essential Qualifications and Certifications:

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
*

First Aid at Work
*

NVQ Level 3 in Joinery
*

Clean UK Driving Licence

Desirable Certifications:

*

PASMA
*

IPAF
