Location: St Helens with travel to Liverpool and Warrington offices

Salary: £33,233

Temporary until August 2025

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our Social Housing clients for a Financial Support Officer the North-West.

Key Responsibilities

* Stay up-to-date with welfare benefit entitlements and changes affecting customers.
* Liaise with HB/DWP services to resolve queries and build strong relationships with DWP Partnership Managers.
* Proactively challenge DWP claims to safeguard rental income.
* Signpost customers to internal and external agencies for support and welfare advice to sustain tenancies.
* Identify and address support needs to help customers sustain their tenancies, including visiting non-engaged tenants.
* Collaborate with the Income Management Team to address vulnerability issues and ensure adequate support.
* Contribute to team objectives and attend meetings

Previous Experience:

* Proficient in using a wide range of relevant IT applications.
* Strong experience in income management and debt collection enforcement.
* Knowledge of legal frameworks related to tenancy arrears recovery.
* In-depth understanding of welfare reform and welfare benefits.
* Full, clean driving licence.
* Flexibility to work hours as required to maximize arrears recovery.
* Experience in case management, including analyzing customer accounts, problem-solving, and maintaining accurate records.
