Quantity Surveyor - Utilities

Job Title: Utilities Quantity Surveyor (QS)



About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utilities Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of utility projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare, manage, and review cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for utility projects.
* Conduct cost analysis and provide accurate forecasting to support project planning.
* Manage contract administration, including variations, claims, and final accounts.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Carry out risk assessments and provide commercial advice to the project team.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company procedures.
* Assist in procurement, tendering, and subcontractor negotiations.
* Monitor project progress, track costs, and report any discrepancies.
* Support the resolution of disputes and financial claims.

Key Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the utilities sector (water, gas, electricity, or telecoms).
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Full UK driving licence (preferred).
