Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a leader in delivering innovative and high-quality engineering solutions, is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to develop their skills in a supportive environment while contributing to large-scale engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in the preparation and submission of interim valuations and applications for payment.
* Support the monitoring of project costs to ensure budgets are maintained and variances are reported.
* Participate in the preparation of final accounts and resolution of contractual claims.
* Conduct material and quantity take-offs from engineering drawings and specifications.
* Support subcontractor management, including preparation of orders and assessment of applications for payment.
* Assist in the preparation of internal cost/value reports and other financial documentation.
* Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective cost control and project delivery.

Experience:

* Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or working towards one).
* Some experience or knowledge of quantity surveying practices, preferably within the engineering or construction sector.
* Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., MS Excel, project costing systems
* A proactive and enthusiastic attitude
* A willingness to learn and grow within the role.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
