Project Manager

A long established and highly successful Regional Building Contractor are looking to appoint a Project Manager to join their team. The company deliver a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects for public and private sector clients up to £50m. The first project you will be responsible for delivering is a high rise residential project in Manchester.

The Project Manager will hold full responsibility for the management and delivery of a project, from inception through to project handover.

Project Manager role will include:

* Help develop the projects main works programmes and ensure that no work commences on site until the health and safety policy and the relevant construction phase plan is in place.
* Provide leadership and support to the site team and help to develop people within your Team
* Comply with the requirements of the company's Quality Procedure and Manual
* Manage all sub-contractors and supply chain effectively
* Ensure best practices and quality are being maintained
* Be proactive in the identification and resolution of problems
* Ensuring the project runs to program and budget
* Work closely and liaise as required with the design team
* Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the client and their representatives
* Monitor the progress of the project and manage issues as they arise

Knowledge skills and experience

* Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering projects over £10m at Project Manager level for Main Contractors
* Previous experience of delivering city centre apartments or other multi occupancy projects as the Project lead
* Experience of Project Planning
* Strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills
* Strong Commercial awareness
* Excellent working knowledge of construction techniques, methodologies and processes
